The Selection Committee, which includes representatives of five Departments (Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Mathematics & Computer Science, and Physics) as well as the Emerson Center, will select once a year a scientific field and one of the leading scholars of this field for lecture presentation at the Emerson Center, based on nominations by EC Subscribers. An annual one-day symposium with participation of students, postdocs and faculty from neighboring colleges/universities will be held; speakers of the symposium will be the lectureship winner and local scholars.
